The New Formlabs Studio Ecosystem Is Coming to Voxel Factory

Form Studio 1 printer with VOC Extractor and UL GREENGUARD Gold logo

Voxel Factory will sell the new Formlabs Studio ecosystem. We’re excited to bring our community a connected resin 3D printing workflow built around Form Studio 1, Form Studio Wash+Cure, and the new Alpha Resins.

From detailed models to functional prototypes, the Studio ecosystem brings printing and post-processing together, helping you move from a digital design to a finished part with less trial and error.

Meet Form Studio 1

Form Studio 1 is a masked stereolithography (MSLA) printer designed to make professional resin printing more accessible. Automatic resin dispensing and validated material settings simplify setup, while intelligent controls monitor resin temperature, resin level, print forces, and leveling during printing.

A custom lens array and 28 LEDs deliver uniform illumination. Release Texture V2 and a flexible film tank reduce peel forces to support faster printing while preserving fine detail and smooth surfaces. According to Formlabs, most prints finish in under two hours, though print time varies with the model, material, and settings.

Prepare, print, and stay connected

Four steps in the Formlabs Studio workflow: 01 Choose a material, 02 Prepare, 03 Print, 04 Post-process

Import your design into PreForm and use one-click print preparation, or adjust orientation and supports yourself. Real-time printability checks help flag issues before you start.

Once the cartridge, tank, and build platform are in place, automatic resin dispensing handles resin delivery. The Form Mobile App and free Dashboard software let you start, queue, and track prints remotely, and an integrated camera lets you view progress in the app.

Wash and cure in one workflow

Form Studio Wash+Cure takes care of the next stages after printing. Wash parts on or off the build platform, then flex the quick-release platform to release parts without scraping.

Let parts air dry completely before curing. Remove the light-touch supports, then use the curing turntable to bring parts to their final mechanical properties. Finished parts can be used as-is or further sanded, coated, and painted.

A new family of Alpha Resins

The Alpha Resin family offers options for different projects:

Two detailed miniature figures illustrating Alpha Model Resin

Alpha Model Resin

A fully matte, neutral surface that brings out small details and textures and paints beautifully.

Grey printed components illustrating Alpha Fast Resin

Alpha Fast Resin

Designed for rapid prototyping and iteration, with advertised print speeds up to 130 mm per hour.

Transparent printed parts illustrating Alpha Clear Resin

Alpha Clear Resin

Optical clarity, crisp features, and smooth surfaces for see-through parts.

Black and white printed assembly illustrating Alpha Black, Grey, and White Resins

Alpha Black, Grey, and White Resins

Rich matte colours and dimensionally accurate surfaces for display-ready parts and assemblies.

Formlabs provides validated settings for its materials, and Form Studio 1 also supports third-party resins without a licence fee.

Low-emission printing with a defined setup

UL GREENGUARD Gold certification logo

According to Formlabs, Alpha Resins achieve UL GREENGUARD Gold certification for low VOC emissions during printing when used on Form Studio 1 with the VOC Extractor. That certification applies to this specific printing setup, not to every resin or printer configuration. Follow the material’s handling instructions and safety documentation when printing and post-processing.
